2e2 to provide a new ICT infrastructure at London Borough of Waltham Forest in a £4.3million three-year deal

Newbury, UK – 20th April 2010 – 2e2, a leading provider of mission-critical IT services, has today announced that it has been selected by the London Borough of Waltham Forest (LBWF) to implement a new ICT infrastructure to address the requirements of the authority’s ‘One Infrastructure’ programme. This three year contract (with a two year extension option) includes design, installation and support, is valued at £4.3million and will deliver a new ICT infrastructure to enable LBWF to achieve its ‘One Infrastructure’ goals.

‘One Infrastructure’ will provide a common approach to ICT, in accordance with the strategy that applies to all of the UK Public Sector, maintaining local accountability and control over implementation and meeting the unique delivery and business requirements within the Public Sector.

2e2 has been appointed to deliver the five projects defined within the ‘One Infrastructure’ program. Based on 2e2’s extensive experience of similar programs it will deliver hosted data centre services, network provisioning, virtualised applications and servers, migration to Microsoft Exchange and the storage infrastructure on which these projects are based.

Graham Bell, Head of ICT at Waltham Forest Council said: “The Council has undertaken an ambitious transformation programme which aims to fundamentally change and improve the way the organisation meets the needs of its residents.

“One way we’re going to achieve this is by upgrading and overhauling our current ICT infrastructure and choosing 2e2 to help us should allow for a quick, seamless and cost-effective way of meeting our key objectives.”

“2e2 understands that this programme represents a key strategic step for LBWF. The coming years present major opportunities and challenges including the provision of new housing, a £250 million investment in schools, a rapidly-changing population, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the £4 billion Stratford City development.”, comments Mike Hockey, Business Development Director at 2e2. “The developments and events within the community will increase dependency on core Council services and ultimately the technology that enables the efficient and effective delivery of these services. 2e2 is delighted to have been selected by LBWF to deliver innovative solutions, equipping and training employees to meet the demands of the future, whilst representing best value for the authority. We also look forward to being able to offer subsequent next-generation solutions for both LBWF and its partners.”
